The church
on the mountain - St. Michael
The church on the mountain, St. Michael can be found half way between Buesingen and Doerflingen on a moraine hill (420 m above sea level). It is one of the oldest churches of our homeland. First time it’s name was mentioned in history was on October 8th, 1095 in a letter of PopeUrban II.
The little church is surrounded by the verger’s house and the old farm building as well as some old tombstones who show the remains of the old cemetery inside the surrounding curtain wall. Inside the farm building is todays viewing area. The church on the mountain is the center of this unique medieval ensemble and gives organ and chamber music concerts a special stmosphere.
The little church enjoys a lot of populatiry amongst people who want to get married.
